Religion has killed more people than any disease. It takes extreme hubris to think that "your" god is real while another individual's is not; to think there is one all-knowing, all-seeing being, that hears your prayers; to believe that certain individuals are representatives of "god" on Earth; to kill members of your own society for heresy; to kill other societies because they don't worship your god. Religion is a problem without an easy solution, because it so ingrained in society.

Notice how religions, denominations and sects will change their practices to hold on to adherents. Its all about power.
More attend church for societal reasons than religious.
